Fall Foliage Photography Workshop

_MG_1243If you have ever been to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in October or November when the fall foliage is in its prime, then you know it is a breathtaking sight to behold.  We literally have people call and ask what weeks will have the best showing of leaves to determine when they will make their reservations.  Unfortunately, we can’t pinpoint the height of the colors since it’s different every year depending upon things such as the amount of rainfall we have had.  It’s pretty safe to say though that generally the last two weeks of October and the first week of November will hold some colorful splendor.

If you have made the pilgrimage to the Park the last two years, then you know that  severely dry conditions over the summers did a number on the fall foliage.  Remember all those rainy days this summer?  Yes, you guessed it, we are expecting to reap its reward in October.  The Park has been lusciously green all summer and we expect to the leaves to resemble some of our favorite crayolas this fall.

If you love photography, the news gets even better…

Wilson Reynolds, the owner of Tremont Outdoor Resort, who is also a professional nature photographer and instructor, is conducting a Fall Foliage Photography Workshop.  The workshop will be held on Saturday, October 31st and Sunday, November 1st.  We’ll be publishing more specifics next week, but I can tell you that the workshop will be limited to 24 people.  The first opportunities to attend will be reserved for those who are staying at Tremont that weekend.  So, when you make your reservations, be sure to put your name on the list for attending the workshop.   If you are local and would like to attend the workshop, we will be opening registration to everyone on October 15th.  However, you don’t have to wait until the 15th to sign up.  You may call or email anytime between now and then to put your name on the list.  Once we reach October 15th, we will notify those on the waiting list on a first come, first serve basis.

So, stay tuned for more details to come next week!
