October is here!

October in East Tennessee is a beautiful sight to behold.  The anticipation of the explosion of color that can take place during this month is almost palpable.  If you don’t live here, but plan on visiting in this glorious Fall season, we thought we would help you out with an update on the color.  As of Friday, October 9th, the leaves have begun to change at the top of the mountains, particularly on the North Carolina side.

In the lower elevations in the Park, there are hints of color with a few yellow and red trees amid the jungle of green, but the full splendor is still a little ways off.

We’re celebrating the arrival of Fall at Tremont as well.  Along with our usual smiling faces, you’ll also be greeted by these guys as well….

As you can tell, we have lots of extra smiling faces on hand to greet you.  Join us in October and early November for the beautiful Fall that we are anticipating enjoying.  We make a great base camp for excursions into the Park.  If you are interested in not only enjoying the color, but photographing it, be sure to check out the blog entry on our Fall Foliage Workshop October 30th through November 1st. Hope to see you soon!
