Crowds return to Cades Cove!

On the first full day that Cades Cove was open again, we took a ride through early in the morning with some of our workshop students from the weekend.  Eric got some great shots of this cub in a tree with his momma laying at the base with his brother.

The turkeys were pretty excited about the reopening as well, or at least they made a good showing!

If you have ever driven the road in Cades Cove, you know that it was difficult to dodge all the potholes since improvements had not been made since the 1970’s.  Now the road is so smooth that if there is no traffic, it’s hard to keep your speed below 20 mph if you aren’t careful!

The Cades Cove Visitor Center was packed this week for the reopening.  Who can blame them though, I mean smooth road and bright green spring leaves that have just come to life?  What more could you need to entice you to make this trip?

Don’t just take our word for it, come see for yourself.  Spring has come to Cades Cove and it is glorious.
